We amplify the dreams, visions, efforts, leadership, and voices of our abortion stigma-busting community to raise awareness, increase accessibility, and ensure their participation in strategic spaces and processes.

Amplifying Stigma-Busting Voices at Key Spaces

In partnership with the community, inroads organizes and financially supports and honors the participation of community panelists and speakers at key decision-making spaces and events for the reproductive justice movement, including Women Deliver, RightsCon, Abortion and Reproductive Justice Conference, Human Rights Funder Network Conference, Africa Conference on Sexual Health and Rights, AWID Forum, and more. 

We are committed to ensuring that their visions continue to be amplified, to shift narratives and power, and to mobilize resources to the abortion collectives at the frontlines. 

Amplifying Stigma-Busting Arts

Aligned with our goal of shifting power and narratives and resourcing the communities powering the reproductive justice movement, Inroads held the Artists Busting Abortion Stigma Fellowship to support and advance the work of abortion justice activists who use their diverse artistic talents to center destigmatizing narratives. 

Find their stigma-busting offerings on our website, including zines, an illustrated children’s book, podcasts, a music video, a documentary, knitting patterns, and more.

Amplifying Transformative Narratives

inroads launched the Body and Territory: an Abortion Justice fellowship to center stories and visions of abortion justice that make vital connections between the body as territory, territory as a place of contest and struggle, and the contest and struggle of ownership, belonging, and environment tie us continually to the intricately woven and interconnected struggles of systematically marginalized communities and the realities we experience, live, and challenge.

The powerful narratives from this program were amplified among our global community of members and allies and published in the Body and Territory Abortion Justice Anthology.

Amplifying Intersecting Voices & Approaches

inroads has supported collective mutual learning cohorts through weaving together public events, festivals, and workshops that amplify voices and approaches to dismantling intersecting stigmas within cross-border abortion work. Some of the spaces we organized in the past years include:

Amplifying resources for cross-movement solidarity and mutual learning

inroads has sustained the amplification of stigma-busting resources, tools, and information to facilitate skill-sharing and mutual learning is at the core of our work. Some efforts to achieve that goal include:

• The inroads community library, a space to facilitate access to resources that support abortion stigma-busting efforts worldwide.

• A regular newsletter packed with practical resources, tools, and opportunities from/for members within the abortion justice ecosystem.

• Managing and sharing resources on our permanent and interactive online Community Workspace, a dynamic virtual safe space for power building, connecting, and solidarity among our 2500+ members.

Amplifying Collective Efforts

We firmly believe in the power of collective action to reshape systems and narratives. With our community of over 2500 movement leaders, we actively participate & co-convene diverse coalition efforts, including the International Safe Abortion Day Campaign, the Global Safe Abortion Dialogues, and the Global Day to Destigmatize Abortions.

Aligned with our commitment to dismantle abortion stigma, inroads initiated and coordinated the launch of a Global Day to Destigmatize Abortions on March 28, a collective effort involving over 180+ reproductive justice organizations that reached more than 1.7 million people worldwide in its first year.
