Across the world, abortion justice movements are weaving transformative narratives rooted in community care, dignity, justice, and liberation.

This curated exhibition brings together four stigma-busting art pieces created by abortion justice activists and collectives from Mexico, Poland, Brazil, and Lebanon, emerging from programs within the inroads global abortion justice community.

Through poetry, visual storytelling, music, and creative expression, these works offer a glimpse into the cultural transformation being led by grassroots movements: challenging abortion stigma, reclaiming our stories, envisioning and creating more just futures.

Amiga, posso me achegar? | Fernanda Campos

“Amiga, posso me achegar?” is a poem about abortion, friendship, and solidarity, an intimate invitation to how we show up for our people and replace isolation with tenderness, accompaniment, and collective support.  

Fernanda Campos is a young Brazilian feminist poet who created this poem as part of Aborto Sin Pena (Abortion without shame/penalization) , a feminist poetry project that challenges abortion stigma and transforms narratives through poetry, spoken word, community weaving, and collective creative practice.

This initiative brought together more than 80 participants from seven Latin American countries for slam poetry workshops led by acclaimed regional poets Sara Raca, Victoria Equihua, and King Abraba, and included a feminist poetry slam celebrating abortion freedom. The project will continues through small grants supporting participating collectives to create local poetry spaces and develop stigma-busting activities in their own communities.

It’s Not Rocket Science | Kareen Ajour & Pascale Ghazaly

It’s Not Rocket Science is a comic created to challenge abortion stigma in Lebanon by bringing abortion and abortion accompaniment networks out of secrecy and into everyday life, conversation, and care.

The comic was created by Lebanese abortion justice activist Kareen Ajour, with illustrations by Pascale Ghazaly, as part of inroads’ Feminist Co-Creation for Abortion Justice Fellowship, a 2026 program supporting abortion justice activists in collaboratively developing and documenting creative strategies, narratives, and tools to respond to stigma in their own contexts.

Through humor, familiar situations, and an accessible visual language, the comic invites audiences to see abortion not as something exceptional or shameful, but as part of people’s real lives — and as an experience that deserves dignity, information, care, and support.

Fandanguito | Son Jarocho Feminista

The Fandanguito by Son Jarocho Feminista Collective is a reinterpretation of a traditional Son Jarocho, with original lyrics that aim to talk about abortion openly and from a destigmatizing narrative. It was developed with the support of the inroads Artists Busting Abortion Stigma Fellowship.

Son Jarocho Feminista Collective redefines the traditional music of Veracruz’s Sotavento region by creating new verses that reflect the experiences, knowledge, and emotions of women and gender non-conforming individuals. They are passionate feminists and abortion activists, actively working within their communities. Learn more here.

The Boring Future of Abortion | Asia Bordowa

“The boring future of abortion” is a zine and a collection of illustrations that envision a positive future without abortion stigma. Asia created this project with and for abortion activists –  to start imagining what a positive future could look like.
