Last week, at the closing of the Abortion & Reproductive Justice Conference (ARJC) 2026, we at inroads were deeply honored to receive the mantle as the next hosts of the Abortion & Reproductive Justice Conference 2028. 

It was one of those moments that reminds us why we do this work. As the announcement was made, it was thrilling to hear the support of the room, especially as we invited everyone who had been part of the inroads community to stand up and join us in celebration. Nearly half of the 900 participants rose to their feet and gathered at the front — a breathtaking testament to a global community built through care, solidarity, and a shared commitment to abortion justice and freedom.

ARJC has become one of the world’s most important spaces for abortion and reproductive justice—bringing together activists, healthcare providers, researchers, artists, funders, and advocates to build strategy, strengthen relationships, and imagine more just futures together.

Throughout the conference, we heard countless stories from reproductive justice organizers whose journeys had been touched by inroads: finding a community that believed in their abortion-freedom work, resources that strengthened their efforts, spaces to learn and connect, and a network that helped them keep going. Seeing so many members standing together made those stories visible all at once.

We accept this responsibility with deep gratitude and humility, knowing that this milestone belongs not to one organization, but to an entire ecosystem that has built it together.

To every inroads member who has shared knowledge, organized, cared for one another, challenged stigma, and strengthened our community over the years.

To our funders, partners, allies, and the many movements that continue to walk alongside us and believe in the power of collective action: This moment is only possible because of the ecosystem we have built together.

And to MAMA Network and Women Help Women: thank you for your visionary leadership in hosting ARJC 2026 and for passing the torch with such generosity. We are excited to build on this powerful legacy.
