This new community workbook is designed for abortion advocates, organizers, and community researchers who want to lead their own participatory workshops, wherever they are in the world. It offers practical guidance grounded in storytelling, reflective dialogue, and collective exploration of values, using a multilevel model of stigma as a framework.
This resource is for those who seek to explore how abortion stigma manifests within their
own contexts on multiple levels beyond the individual, and how it might be collectively
challenged and transformed.
Created by the International Network for the Reduction of Abortion Discrimination and Stigma (inroads) in collaboration with the Swedish Association for Sexuality Education (RFSU), this workbook comes from a shared commitment to dismantling abortion stigma and advancing reproductive justice worldwide.
The workbook builds on findings from the collaborative research project Stigma-Busting Strategies to Advance Abortion Rights, a joint initiative by inroads, RFSU, and partners across Asia, Africa, Europe, and Latin America.
This report explores innovative strategies developed by abortion rights advocates to reduce stigma’s complex manifestations at individual, community, institutional, and structural levels.
