This year, inroads joined over 50 abortion rights advocates, activists, researchers, lawyers, and movement leaders from across the Global South at the SAIGE Convention – a two-day gathering dedicated to advancing reproductive justice and reclaiming the right to safe abortion. The convention created a powerful participatory space where diverse voices came together to reflect, learn, and build collective strategies for the future of abortion justice.

The theme of this space, Reclaiming the Right to Safe Abortion: Reproductive Justice for All, guided rich conversations on the political, cultural, and systemic forces shaping access to safe abortion. The convening created a secure and vital space to share grounded experiences from across countries, examine emerging threats, and work collaboratively to imagine new possibilities for movement building. Discussions highlighted the essential role of narrative change, cross-movement alliances, community-led resistance, health system strengthening, and strategies to counter stigma and opposition.
