Last month, 484 abortion justice advocates, organisations, providers, policy makers, and funders from across 75 countries participated in the 2024 Global Safe Abortion Dialogue virtual convening. The community came together to strategise, celebrate, learn, and connect through 15 sessions and skills-enhancing workshops. 

At inroads, we recognize the importance of building collective power and transforming the stigmatizing narratives that underpin abortion realities, practices, and policies. We are proud to be part of the Global Safe Abortion Dialogue Working Group, and to have led a masterclass centered on Understanding and Transforming Abortion Stigma in Practice within the 2024 virtual convening.

As we move forward as a global movement, the GSAD group recognizes the importance of:

• Uniting as an intersectional and inclusive movement which collaborates with other SRHR movements
• Continuing to build, share, and fund evidence, best practices, tactics, and lessons learned globally
• Fostering brave and bold action to ensure that abortion rights remain a priority so that, everywhere, everyone who needs abortion care can access it

We’re committed to continue to build partnerships and further a stigma-busting global abortion justice community within this space, and look forward to sharing the summary report with you soon, highlighting key recommendations and actions.
