To the inroads Community,

The inroads team is excited to announce that now, as of September 1 2020, the inroads network is a fully independent non-profit organization! With this move to independence, we continue in our dedication to ending abortion stigma and discrimination while working to mitigate and manage the negative impacts that stigma and discrimination have on all of us! 

After 6 years of partnership, inroads will no longer be officially hosted by Ipas. While this transition to independence is an important opportunity for introspection and transformation, member communications and participation will function the same, and our focus remains to gather and connect those of you who are doing the work of ending abortion stigma across the globe. 

Inroads members’ experiences, skills and expertise have shaped not just our network, but the ways that abortion discrimination, penalization, and stigma are addressed throughout the world. This network exists for members to get the resources, energy, and collaboration needed to take on entrenched stigma and discrimination. Your participation in inroads meetings, evaluations, governance surveys, and events have defined this network’s strategy and future, and have helped to push the trajectory and culture of the network forward.

We look forward to continuing to work in partnership with you all as members and partner organizations to facilitate and encourage ending abortion stigma at every level and on every shore.

What does this mean for inroads members? 

• For members, the only thing that will change is how to contact the inroads team. Our email addresses are changing, and you can reach the organization at info@makeinroads.org, or anyone on the team at firstname@makeinroads.org. 

• The listserv email address is the same (post to the list: inroads@members.endabortionstigma.org, or log into the Collaboration Workspace at members.endabortionstigma.org/inroads!). 

• The website is the same: www.makeinroads.org. But our email addresses are changing! You can reach the organization at info@makeinroads.org, or anyone on the team at firstname@makeinroads.org. 

• Get ready to attend our Graduation Party! We hope to see as many members who can attend virtually join the inroads team and longtime Ipas colleagues in celebration of the development and transformation of this network from small group of folks wanting to figure out abortion stigma to a vibrant and active community for stigma busting and mutual support.  

The inroads staff can not wait to celebrate with you (virtually) in the coming months and to share more information about inroads network independence, our ongoing strategic planning work, upcoming plans, and to introduce you to our evolving Advisory Committee and to our new Board of Directors.
